Hear the Facts and See the Truth. More than any one thing, the power of corporations who drive the massive industrial animal operations comes from their ability to silence voices and hide the facts about their business practices. How grower contracts are set-up and enforced, who gets hurt in the process and the toll they take on local farmers, their families and their communities needs to be heard and seen. March 8th hear a grower’s perspective from a former longtime contract poultry grower that you will not get from agribusiness or current growers who cannot tell their story. Then see the documentary film that exposes the real-life injustices faced by growers under contract.

Craig Watts is an independent family farmer and former contract-grower for the poultry industry who has been outspoken about the power of giant meat companies, giving testimony on Capitol Hill and sharing his story on the Farm Aid stage. His story has appeared in The New York Times and on Tonight with John Oliver. For his work telling the untold truth of life as a contract poultry grower for industry giant Perdue, Watts was named Whistleblower Insider’s 2015 Whistleblower of the Year.

Under Contract: Farmers and the Fine Print is a first-of-its-kind, full-length documentary featuring contract growers & industry experts who reveal how the corporate production model pits farmer against farmer. Under Contract: Farmers and the Fine Print takes audiences on a road trip across the American South and to Southern India to understand what’s happening to farmers living under contract, and what we can do to change our food system for the better.
